A new version is out! NZBPlayer beta v0.2.04
16:02 GMT 02/03/2008
The website has a new look!
NZBPlayer is a unique and free Usenet Newsreader designed to download and stream high quality video binaries from Newgroups. If you are a serious Usenet user, then this program is a must have. If you are not a serious Usenet user, then NZB Player is the best reason to become one!

NZBPlayer can open NZB files - this eliminates the
need to download a large amount of headers! The NZB file tells NZBPlayer
which binaries (files) to download and stream from Usenet. Video files
on Usenet are usually split up across multiple files. NZBPlayer downloads
those files from the Newsgroup, and plays the video contained within as
it is doing so. It will work with any type of video file your external
player supports - we recommend VLC, which
can handle Avi (DivX, Xvid), Mpeg, 720p h264 to name but a few.
NZBPlayer can also play or open RAR video files "as
is". This opens up many possibilities! For example, you can stream over
FTP, or from Rapidshare. Simply queue up the RARs in the correct order,
and once the first RAR file has downloaded, drag it onto NZBPlayer. You
can then start watching the video while the remaining files are being
downloaded in the FTP/Download manager.
Any video file you watch will be stored in the "C:\NZBPlayer\avis"
directory. You can choose a different directory in the settings. The video
files there can be played again without the need to use your internet
connection.
In the event of any missing parts, NZBPlayer takes
care of repairing the download binary files, provided there are enough
par2 files available.
Using multiple connections allows you to fully utilise
your bandwidth. A Usenet provider like Giganews
will match your maximum download rate. If you have a 10Mbps internet line,
Giganews will let you download binaries at 10Mbps!
NZBPlayer has a built in browser to let you find
NZBs more easily.
The NZBEdit option lets you modify the NZB file before
streaming the video.
